To the editor:
This may belong in the “I can’t believe it” category.
I’ve been exercising at the Wellness Center at Monadnock Community Hospital since it opened.
I usually finish up my routine on a stationary bike and pedal away for ten minutes or so and occasionally watch the TV monitors on the wall in front of me. I don’t hear what’s being said, just watch the pictures.
For years at least two of the monitors were usually tuned to CNN and Fox News.
I asked an attendant today why I hadn’t seen these lately, not that I pay that much attention to them, but still. What I was seeing was pretty much rubbish TV: quiz shows, sports commentary, etc.. Was someone switching off these two competing channels?
I was told this: “We established a new policy here at the Wellness Center. No CNN, No Fox, No MSNBC. Too many squabbles were resulting!”
So it’s come to that! Censorship at the hospital!
