Lindsey (Galliher) and Elliott Tucker were married Sept. 1, 2019 at Crockett Farm on Whidbey Island in Washington State. Lindsey, formerly of Boscawen, shared a bit about what went into planning their special day.

What was the best part of your wedding?

Being able to spend the evening enjoying having just married my best friend with all of the people who love and support us!

What was the most fun part of your planning?

Tasting different options for catering (dinner and dessert) was really fun, and delicious.

What was the most difficult part of planning?

Trying not to get stressed out about things that were outside of our control, or that we were not overly invested in.

Did you plan your own wedding or hire a wedding planner?

Our venue provided some planning and day of coordination, but we planned the vast majority of it.

Who else was involved in your wedding planning?

My husband and I, both of our mothers, and my sister

What was a unique feature of your wedding?

Our wedding was on an island that most of our guests hadn’t been to before, but another unique part would be the dessert. We served locally made pies and that was a fun touch!

Did you partake in any special wedding traditions?

My husband and I didn’t do a first look, so the first time we saw each other was when I was walking down the aisle. Other than that we really made the day our own!

Did anything not go according to plan?

If anything did, we aren’t sure what it was!

Did you have to go to any “plan B” from your original vision?

We didn’t have an overly specific vision for our wedding, we more knew the environment we wanted and that we wanted everyone to have a lot of fun. That allowed us to be very flexible in our planning and make choices that would make us happy.

If you had to do it again, would you change anything?

I would have taken a breath and enjoyed it more. It is so easy to get sucked into spending a ton of time stressing about things that you don’t care about that it’s really easy to forget to enjoy this exciting time in your life!

How long did it take you to plan your wedding?

A little over a year!

Do you have any vendor recommendations?

All of our vendors were great! I would recommend all of them if you are planning a wedding in Washington State and our photographer, Kyle Goldie with Luma Weddings, travels all over. He was absolutely phenomenal and our pictures are everything we could ever hope for. Our venue was through Whidbey Island Weddings, our caterer was Bitterroot BBQ, and hair and makeup was done by Yessie Libby. All phenomenal.

Anything else?

The only thing I would add is to make sure your partner and you are on the same page. I really enjoyed my husband being super involved and it made the actual wedding so much more fun knowing that it was really something both of us had planned. Also the more organized you are, the easier your life would be and utilized Google Sheets and Google Docs so that everyone can easily be on the same page.
