RindgeSmoky Quartz, an evening of original works at library

Ingalls Memorial Library invites the public to a celebration of local poetry and prose on Nov. 21 at 6:30 p.m.

Smoky Quartz: On the Road is an evening of listening to original works read by some of the Monadnock region’s finest writers.

The event is the first in a series of live readings planned throughout the year. Smoky Quartz is the online journal published every fall and spring by the Monadnock Writers Group. Each issue features poetry, prose and art work by people with a connection to New Hampshire. Smoky Quartz: On the Road grew out of the public’s interest in hearing readings of creative works by local writers.

According to one of the editors, Sara Miller, “It was a perfect match. People kept asking about live readings and contributors to the journal wanted to share their works with more people. So we thought, ‘Why not take the journal on the road?’ The event in Rindge is our first for Smoky Quartz: On the Road. Future ones are planned for Jaffrey and Dublin.”
