The Monadnock Writers’ Group will hold its monthly meeting at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Peterborough Town Library. 

The speaker will be Lori Houran, who has served as senior editor at Random House Book for Young Readers and editorial director at Golden Books. 

She has written more than 40 books for children and young readers. The event is free and open to the public.
