Hollis-Brookline opened Friday night’s football game at ConVal with four straight touchdowns and never looked back, ultimately handing the Cougars a 50-7 defeat.

ConVal (1-2) hasn’t beaten Hollis-Brookline (2-1) since 2016, and it was quickly apparent that wasn’t going to change.

The Cougars’ offense, now led by Tristan Hutchinson at quarterback in the flexbone, did string together a few good drives. Down 28-0 in the second quarter, a 50-yard kick return by Austin Davis and a 24-yard pass from Hutchinson to Peter Wetherill up the right sideline set up a touchdown pass over the middle to tight end Liam Denehy for ConVal’s only score of the game.

Erich Clark had a second-quarter interception for the Cougars.

ConVal has been outscored 91-7 in the past two games. They’ll have a chance to bounce back at Alvirne (1-1) Friday at 7 p.m. The Broncos opened the season with a 15-0 win over Pelham and then lost a close one to St. Thomas Aquinas, 13-12.
