A public hearing is scheduled for the draft 2021-2030 Ten Year Transportation Improvement Plan in the Town House at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The plan outlines and budgets projects on state roads and rights-of-way.
“All are welcome to come. Even if you don’t want to testify, you can submit written testimony,” or just observe the process, said Deborah Pignatelli, the executive councilor for New Hampshire District 5.
“I’m there to listen,” she said. “Based on what I hear and what the DOT officials hear, we could alter the plan, take out a project, add a project, or change it.”
Hard copies of the draft plan will be available at the hearings, Pignatelli said, and she will be available to speak with residents about any of their concerns with the plan before and after the meeting. She referenced ongoing concerns about the downtown construction in Jaffrey, and said she would also be attending the Oct. 2 public hearing for that project.
Residents are welcome at any of the scheduled hearings across the state. One is scheduled in the Keene Parks and Recreation building Oct. 15 at 6 p.m.
Here are the local projects and associated timelines listed on the the draft plan:
Antrim:
■Bridge replacement on Craig Road. Design in 2023, construction in 2023-2024.
■Bridge repair or replacement on Route 31 over Steel Pond Brook. Engineering in 2025-2027, construction in 2030.
Bennington:
■Rehabilitate or replace the bridge on South Bennington Road over Russell Brook. Construction in 2023.
Francestown:
■Bridge replacement on South New Boston Road over the South Branch Piscataquog River. Construction in 2021.
Hancock:
■Bridge replacement on Longview Road over Moose Brook Bridge. Engineering in 2027, construction in 2027-2028.
Jaffrey:
■Reconfigure the dog leg intersection of US 202, and state routes 124, and 137. Construction in 2022 and 2023.
■Rehabilitate bridge on Nutting Road over the Contoocook River. Engineering in 2021, construction in 2021-2022.
■Construct and reconstruct sidewalks, crosswalks, and bike lanes on Stratton Road and Peterborough Street. Engineer in 2021, construction in 2025.
Lyndeborough:
■Rehabilitate or replace the railroad bridge over Glass Factory Road. Engineering in 2026-2027, construction in 2028.
Peterborough:
■Bridge replacement and widening for traffic control plan on US 202 and state route 101 over the Contoocook River. Construction in 2021 and 2022.
■Bridge replacement on US 202 and state route 123 over Contoocook River. Engineering in 2021-2024, construction in 2025.
Rindge:
■Bridge replacement on Wellington Road over Converseville Brook. Construction in 2021.
Wilton:
■Traffic and safety improvements consistent with the intent of the 2002 corridor study on Route 101. Engineering in 2021 and construction in 2022 and 2023.
■Bridge rehabilitation on King Brook Road over King Brook. Construction in 2021.
■Bridge replacement on Old County Farm Road over Blood Brook. Engineering in 2027, construction in 2027-2028.
■Bridge replacement on Stage Coach Road over Burton Pond. Engineering in 2021, construction in 2021-2022.
