Plans for a proposed asphalt plant and storage silo will be heard by the Wilton Zoning Board of Adjustment on Tuesday.

The plant and silo are being proposed by Jim Quinn, and would be built on 50 Quinn Road, which is also the site of a quarry operation.

Quinn has filed for variances for the height of the buildings. The town only allows buildings of 45 feet in the industrial zone, and the plant is proposed to be 68 feet, and the storage silo is proposed to be 72 feet.

The Zoning Board began a public hearing on the variances in July, and continued the meeting to its Sept. 10 meeting, looking for additional information about fire danger and suppression plans.

The Sept. 10 hearing will only be accepting comments relating to the height of the buildings. Further concerns can be addressed to the Planning Board during the site plan review process.

The full agenda for the Zoning Board meeting is available on the Wilton town website. The meeting will be held Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall courtroom.
