Sullivan was driving a Dodge caravan west on Route 101 in Temple at about 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, when a deer crossed in front of him, he told police. Sullivan swerved to avoid the animal, and struck the guardrail in the westbound lane. His vehicleย rebounded off the guardrail, and crossed the yellow line, striking the guardrail in the eastbound lane, and stopping in the eastbound lane.

His vehicle was towed from the scene. Route 101 was down to a single lane of traffic for a short amount of time until the vehicle was removed.ย
