A great big thank you from all of us at the Peterborough Food Pantry to everyone who helped make this past weekend’s food drive at Shaw’s in Peterborough a big success, including the staff and leadership at Shaw’s.
Thanks to your generosity we added close to 20 carts of food to our shelves, and $644 was donated for us to shop for our customers. People were coming out of Shaw’s with two and three bags of food to donate to the Pantry! One man came out with a bag full of jars of spaghetti sauce. “I know what it’s like to need food,” he said, “I want to give back.”
This food goes such a long way, helping families, children, the elderly, veterans and people in transition fill in the gaps. It ensures that no one in our community needs to go hungry. Each week we serve between 70 and 85 families, giving out enough food to make 1500 meals. Your generosity at these food drives and throughout the year makes that possible.
