A single-car crash occurred on Bonds Corner Road at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday when the driver swerved off the road to avoid a herd of deer.
John Washburn, 53, of Troy, was traveling westbound in a 2003 Saab when he swerved off the road, sideswiping a telephone pole in the process, Hancock Police Chief Andrew Wood said Thursday.
Washburn was uninjured, a passenger of the vehicle sustained minor injuries, but refused treatment.
Wood said the car was moderately damaged was towed from the scene.
Washburn managed to avoid the deer.
