The Stephenson Memorial Library will hold its second annual poetry event in honor of National Poetry Month on April 11 at 7 p.m. in the library’s meeting room, the Wensberg room.

The reading will include two accomplished New Hampshire poets – Meg Kearney and Rodger Martin.

Kearney is known for an acclaimed trilogy of novels in verse for teens about adoption. She has extensive creative writing and teaching experience in Massachusetts and New York as well as being the former associate director of the National Book Foundation. Her most recent collection for adults is “Home by Now.” The library also has a copy of her first collection of poems, “An Unkindness of Ravens,” available for checkout.

Rodger Martin teaches journalism at Keene State College. His latest publication is a volume of poetry entitled “The Battlefield Guide,” which contains references to Harper’s Ferry, Antietam and Gettysburg.

The library will offer the reading of individual poems by five audience members, time permitting.

Light refreshments and book signings by the guest poets will follow the readings.
