Laura Gourlay of Peterborough crosses the newly constructed bridge in Shieling Forest in Peterborough. The bridge was rebuilt and relocated by A.J. Dupere, an Urban Forester for the Division of Forest and Lands. The bridge replaces a bridge installed in the 1980s. The underpinnings of the old bridge were damaged by washouts caused by a beaver dam. The bridge was completed on Jan. 17, and is made from local wood cut from the Division of Forest and Lands nursery, and includes a ramp and handrails for better accessibility.
