A Wilton woman was killed in a car crash on Route 101 in Milford around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday night.
Cheryl Ferrell, 57, of Wilton was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
Milford police, Milford fire, along with Milford and Wilton ambulance services responded to the three-car motor vehicle crash involving a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta, a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek and a 2015 Ford Fiesta on Route 101 between the Osgood Road and Perry Road over passes.
โThis area of Route 101 is straight and level. Preliminary investigation shows that the Volkswagen was traveling west. The Subaru was also traveling west and the Ford was traveling east,โ Milford police said in a press release Thursday.
The Subaru was operated by Ferrell, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two male juveniles were in the Volkswagen and the Andrew Dwyer, 23, of Nashua had been driving the Ford Fiesta, police said. All three were taken to a hospital in Nashua with what police said are believed to be minor injuries.
Route 101 was closed for about six hours while the Milford Technical Accident Reconstruction team investigated the crash.
โIt does appear that speed was a factor in this crash,โ police said in the press release.
