A man was airlifted for treatment after a crash on Route 101 in Temple on Friday night.
At 2:40 p.m. on Friday Cameron Rowe, 18, of Manchester was traveling alone in his 2004 Honda sedan on Route 101 in Temple, towards Milford, and lost control as he went into the curved turn by Powers Road.
“He struck the south embankment, rolling the vehicle,” Temple-Greenville Police Chief Jim McTague said in an interview Monday.
McTague said speed was a factor in the accident.
He was not wearing a seatbelt, and was ejected from his vehicle, said Wilton Ambulance Chief Steve Desrosiers.
Desrosiers said after arriving at the scene and performing a rapid trauma assessment, he requested a helicopter to take the man to a trauma center.
“The injuries appeared significant enough to warrant a helicopter,” Desrosiers said.
McTague said that by Monday, Rowe had been released from the hospital.
The ambulance took the Rowe to a landing zone set up at the parking lot on Route 101 at Temple Mountain where he was airlifted to a Massachusetts hospital for treatment.
