A Rindge man accused of using his former business to defraud Massachusetts’ Medicaid program and later laundering millions of dollars generated through his defrauding practices is scheduled to change his plea to guilty next month.

Michael Davini, 58, and his company Rite Way are scheduled for a change of plea hearing on July 18 at the Worcester Superior Court, according to Emalie Gainey, a spokesperson secretary for the Massachusetts’ Attorney General’s Office.

Davini was indicted in March on three counts of money laundering by a Worcester County grand jury. Davini has been accused of attempting to hide $3 million in cash and two homes under his wife’s name.

Davini and Rite Way were previously scheduled to plead guilty on June 4, but that never happened.

Rite Way LLC was Westminster, Massachusetts-based company that formerly provided non-emergency transportation services to methadone clinics. The company closed in 2015.

Davini and Rite Way were previously indicted in September 2016 on two counts of larceny over $250, four counts of Medicaid false claims, and one count of kickbacks. The indictment accused Davini and his company of fraudulently billing MassHealth for services that were never provided.

The company was also accused of submitting fraudulent claims for non-emergency wheelchair van transportation and offering cash payouts to MassHealth members to recruit others to use the company.

Rite Way, Davini, and his three former managers, were indicted by a statewide grand jury in September 2016 in connection with fraudulent bills that were sent to MassHealth for services never provided.

The company was also accused of submitting fraudulent claims for non-emergency wheelchair van transportation and offering and paying out cash to MassHealth members to recruit others to use Rite Way.

Three of the company’s managers were sentenced after pleading guilty earlier in the month.
