After being closed for several days the Dunkin’ Donuts in the Brady’s Plaza in Peterborough was able to reopen Thursday, plaza manager Barry York said Friday.
The Dunkin’ Donuts on Route 202 in the Brady’s Plaza was closed Monday through Thursday morning due to plumbing issues. Another plaza business, Conrad’s Hair Affair Salon, also had to close Wednesday when workers had trouble finding the plumbing issue.
York, who also owns Brady’s American Grill in the plaza, said the plumbing issues started Sunday night.
Workers from the town water department were brought in Tuesday to help determine the issue was a backup of the sewage line within the plaza system, York said.
Cheshire Drain Service was hired to fix the issue and had to jack-hammer two to three feet down into the floor at Dunkin’ Donut and Conrad’s before they could find and fix the backup, York said.
York said both businesses have reopened and plans are in the works to install new septic lines at the plaza to prevent the problem from happening again.
The other businesses in the plaza are Peterborough Veterinary Clinic, U.S. Cellular and Grappelli’s Pizza.
