Rindge police are still asking for the public’s help in trying to find the suspect that attempted to rob North of the Border convenience store with a knife last week.

Sergeant Jeffrey Seppala said Tuesday afternoon that the department is still receiving tips, but nothing substantial has come of it at this time.

“We do have physical evidence that we will process but its very limited,” said Seppala. “Everything is still under investigation.”

A male subject wearing a dark-colored hoodie, light blue jeans, gloves, some sort of face covering, and light-colored work boots entered the store around 9:55 p.m. and attempted to rob the store with a knife, but left with nothing after a store owner repelled him back with an aluminum baseball bat. The suspect may have been hit at least once in the head with the bat.

A similar armed robbery took place on April 11 at West of the Border, where money was taken.

Seppala said there has been no new evidence to definitively say the two robberies were done by the same person, but it still seems likely as both suspects had similar appearances and brandished a knife.
