A Danville man accused of stabbing a man at Rockbrook Apartments in Peterborough last month has waived probable cause.

Selket Taylor, 28, waived probable cause during a hearing on Wednesday at the Jaffrey District Court. Taylor was charged with first- and second-degree assault by Peterborough police after he allegedly stabbed Noah Lorden, 22, on the night of May 21. Lorden, who said in an interview with the Ledger-Transcript that he lives in Temple, has documentation on file with the court saying he lives in Jaffrey.

Taylor was visually upset when Justice Martha R. Crocker imposed bail conditions, which included him not being able to contact Ashley Hemeon, a witness in the case.

Taylor’s attorney, Public Defender Todd Russell, said that Taylor is currently in a relationship with Hemeon and argued to allow for contact between the two, provided they didn’t talk about the case.

Taylor’s bail was amended to $10,000 cash or corporate surety, which is down from the $20,000 previously set at his arraignment. Crocker also ordered that Selket have no contact with Lorden.

Taylor has been accused of attacking Lorden with a steak knife after breaking into Hemeon’s home. Lorden went to Monadnock Community Hospital after the incident, where he received stitches for lacerations on his left forearm and hip.
