A bus carrying 19 students that was bound for Keene Middle and High School was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of Route 123 and Telephone Road in Marlow on Thursday morning.

According to state police reports, Dylan Martin, 18, of Greenfield, was driving west on Route 123 in a 1988 Dodge Dakota when he attempted to negotiate a sharp corner, slid on the snow-covered road, traveled over the center line and collided with the school bus. The bus was traveling east on Route 123 and attempting to take a right-hand turn on Telephone Road when the collision occurred.

The accident caused front-end damage to the bumper of the bus, which temporarily disabled the vehicle because the bumper was pushed against the front driver’s side tire.

Martin’s vehicle also sustained front-end damage but was driven from the scene.

There were no injuries as a result of the collision and all of the students were escorted off the bus and either transported by their parents or another school bus provided by the bus company, who arrived on scene shortly after the incident occurred.

The report says weather and speed were factors, but no charges are being pressed at this time.
