PETERBOROUGHWomen’s March bus ride canceled

Rally Bus from Peterborough for the Women’s March on Washington in the District of Columbia on Saturday, Jan. 21, has been canceled because the supply of buses is not great enough to meet nationwide demand.

Tens of thousands of marchers are expected in the nation’s capital the day after Donald Trump is inaugurated as the 45th president of the United States.

In an email to ticketholders notifying them their ride from Peterborough to the District could not be confirmed, Rally Bus said, “We very much appreciate you booking with Rally but despite the fact that we are moving tens of thousands to the March, we couldn’t match enough requests with an available bus to confirm your trip.”

The company is offering a total refund upon cancellation – which is automatic three days after the non-confirm email, unless other action is taken – or transfer to other buses at no additional charge. There are buses leaving from as close as Portsmouth and Northampton, Massachusetts, but with limited seats.

If marchers were to carpool in their own vehicles, Washington’s transit authority metro stops offer free parking on weekends at 44 stations in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, from which someone could ride into town on the train.
