A 64-year-old Peterborough woman was rescued from Pack Monadnock after sustaining a serious but non-life threatening injury while descending the mountain on Sunday afternoon.
Susan Kaardinen said she was descending the mountain at about 3:10 p.m. on the Wapack Trail in Greenfield when her snowshoe got caught under a rock, which caused her to fall forward and injure her right ankle.
NH Fish and Game Conservation Officers, Peterborough, and Greenfield Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the call. Rescue crews made contact with Kaardinen on the Wapack Trail about eight-tenths of a mile from the trail head on Sand Hill Road. She was taken off of the trail system on a sled.
Kaardinen was transported to the Monadnock Community Hospital where she was treated.
Fish and Game said in a press release that it was investigating.
