After five games away from Jaffrey, the Conant girls returned home Tuesday and got a 56-33 win over Hopkinton.

“It definitely felt great to be back playing at the Pratt,” said head coach Brian Troy. “The energy and enthusiasm was at a high level.”

Senior guard Megan Wheeler was the game’s high point-scorer, dropping 20 as she went 8-8 from the free throw line.

“Conant capitalized on our turnovers and we had no answer for Wheeler in transition,” said Hopkinton’s Pay Roye.

Wheeler’s fellow senior co-captains Grace Chadbourne (nine points, three blocks) and Daria Aho (eight points) played big roles as well as the Oriole offense went into high gear.

“We really did a good job of getting out in transition and getting some easy baskets,” Troy said.

Freshman guard Silas Bernier scored seven points and sophomore center Mariah Chamberlain added eight.

Conant (3-2) hosts winless Raymond (0-5) on Jan. 3 at 6:30 p.m. The Rams have lost their previous two contests to Campbell and Sanborn by a combined score of 116-28.
