Lindsay LaPlante (age 6) from Bennington Daisy Girl Scout Troop 10914 spent Thursday afternoon volunteering for Brown-Knight Memorial VFW Post 8268. The VFW places American flags at the gravestones of veterans at Sunnyside, Calvary, and Evergreen cemeteries in Bennington. The Girl Scouts recently collected more than 150 flags in preparation for winter. Come spring, the girls will place flags in each cemetery and at town memorials again.

Joining Lindsay were future Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts, Chelsea LaPlante (age 4), Carter Craig (age 4) and Caleb Craig (age 3). All reside in Bennington.
