In October, a total of 15.2 tons of marketable recyclables were processed at the Jaffrey Transfer Station, broken down as follows:
Mixed paper: 9.01 tons
Cardboard: 4.3 tons
Plastics: 1.5 tons
Aluminum: 0.4 tons
These items represent approximately $1,521 in estimated revenue to market. In addition, 1.5 tons of electronics were accepted for recycling, resulting in a disposal fee avoidance of $1,465. A total of 11.9 tons of scrap metal was sent to market in October realizing a revenue and avoidance cost of $1,341. The total savings to the town is $4,327.
