With political campaigns ramping up to make their final push for Election Day, roads throughout the Monadnock region are being plastered with campaign signs. Unfortunately for some, those signs are being stolen.
Jaffrey resident Joel Proulx is one in a line of residents who has reported to the police that his signs have been stolen.
“Not only are my Trump signs being stolen, so are my First Amendment rights,” said Proulx, who said 16 signs have been stolen.
Jaffrey Police Chief Bill Oswalt said signs are stolen every election cycle, but he believes there has been an uptick this year. Oswalt said catching the thieves usually presents a challenge.
