Laura Lynchstands out

To the editor:

As a candidate for governor this year (I was the runner-up in the Democratic primary), I has the good fortune of meeting thousands of people over the summer and fall across New Hampshire, and it was wonderful. In each part of the state, however, I made new friends who stood out for their energy, kindness, wisdomย and civic engagement. ย

Laura Lynch was such a person, and the voters of Temple, Sharonย and New Ipswich have the opportunity to elect Laura to the State House from Hillsborough District 25 on Nov. 8. I would strongly urge you to give Laura the chance to be your voice in Concord.

Laura has truly been a leader on the biggest issues facing the Monadnock region. Nobody has fought harder against the Kinder Morgan pipeline than Laura Lynch. She understands the negative impact it would have on the community, and is passionate about fostering conservation, as well as locally-produced, renewable, clean energy to support our economy and environment. She will be an informed, determined, authentic advocate for her constituents. I know this, because she is already doing it in her community.

Laura also understands that local property taxes โ€“ already high, and continuing to rise โ€“ threaten many residents’ ability to stay in their homesย and maintain their quality of life. She has proactively sought out policies that can provide relief for those who need it most, including our retired residents, while maintaining the resources needed to provide quality education, public safetyย and infrastructure.

Finally, in a legislature that is likely to be closely divided between Democrats and Republicans, it is critical to have local representation with strong people skills โ€“ the ability to work with others, irrespective of their party affiliation. Laura’s honest and warm demeanor, ย experience organizing others against the pipeline, and the love of people that perhaps comes with being a mother and stepmother of six, and grandmother of 10, is needed more than ever.ย

I am proud to be a friend and supporter of Laura Lynch. Having spent many months traveling the state, I know good people when I see them, and Laura will be an outstanding representative for you in the State House.ย

To the residents of New Ipswich, Sharon, and Temple: Please vote for Laura Lynch in District 25 for the N.H. State House on Nov. 8.
