HancockPhotos, Legos, movies at library

The Hancock library will be busy this month, with a number of activities planned for children.

The Tween/Teen Advisory Board will sponsor a photography contest. Categories are: Giving Thanks, Nature, Act of Kindness, and Family. Each person may submit one photo per category. Submissions will be accepted from Nov. 1 to Nov. 21, with voting beginning on Nov. 21.

On Nov. 8 at 5 p.m., children ages 10 to 18 are invited to create wearable dream catchers. Each participant will be able to make one pair of earrings or one pendant, using wire, beads, and feather charms.

On Nov. 9, the Tween/Teen Advisory Board will meet from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The group, which is for ages 10 to 18, will  be working together to find out what should be added to the library collection and what programs they would like to see. It’s a chance to have a say in how things work. Anyone unable to attend the meeting should send an email to hancockkidlib@gmail.com, subject line: Join TAB. Our next meeting will be planning any December vacation programs, deciding on the next movie night, and brainstorming January programs.

Movie night with pizza will be on Nov. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. The movie will be “Through the Looking Glass,” which is rated PG. Those who want pizza should sign up ahead of time.

Movie afternoon with popcorn will be on Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. The movie is “Finding Dory,” which is rated G.
