On Wednesday, children of Greenfield will be treated to two storytelling events from Duncan McDougall.

The morning preschool event at the Stephenson Memorial Library at 10:45 a.m. will be geared to children up to age 5, and will include a book giveaway.

The second event will take place at Greenfield Elementary School at 1 p.m., and will introduce the new books received from the grant.

McDougall’s events are funded through a Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) Rural Libraries grant.

The grant allowed the library to select $2,000 worth of new books for the library’s children’s collection, and provided Greenfield Elementary School with $500 for new books for the school library.

The Stephenson Memorial Library enjoys a close relationship with Greenfield Elementary School, whose children routinely walk to the library for class storytimes and attend after-school book clubs and maker STEM activities.
