The ConVal cross-country teams competed at the Southern Cluster championship meet, facing off against Hollis-Brookline, Milford, Goffstown, Souhegan, Campbell, Windham, and Manchester West.
The girls team finished second overall behind Souhegan. Clare Veverka, Schuyler Michalak, Lucy Freeman, Sawyer Cawthern and Hailey Doherty led the team in scoring positions. Marina Macmahon and Caitlin Galea rounded out the varsity squad.
The boys finished a tough sixth in a tight field. Evan Coyne and Ben Henry led the charge averaging roughly 5:50 per mile through the trails. Casey Burgess, Max Boisvert, and Liam Veverka rounded out the top five with Oliver Ellerkamp and Harrision Kim taking 6th and 7th for the Cougars.
Both teams are primed and ready to compete at the DII State Championship meet a week from Saturday. The meet will take place at Manchester’s Derryfield Park starting at 10 a.m.
