Greenfield Tour the new recreation area

The Greenfield Conservation Commission and Mr. Ray Cilley are hosting a tour of the Powder Mill Pond shoreline property recently conserved on the Robertson farm on Old Bennington Road on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A free grill-your-own campfire lunch and a history of the property and conservation easement will be offered between noon and 1 p.m.

Directions to the site: Take Old Bennington Road 1.7 mile from its start in Bennington or 1.6 mile from its intersection with Forest Road (in the direction of Bennington). Balloons will mark the entrance at Robertson Lane.

A host will direct drivers to parking spots.

The property also can be reached by canoe/kayak via Powder Mill Pond, or by walking along the railroad tracks from Old Bennington Road to the picnic area near the Powder Mill railroad bridge.
