To the editor:
Every year a flock of happy youngsters arrives in our region through the auspices of the Fresh Air Fund, which for 140 years has been providing free countryside summer experiences for low-income New York City youth. Our Monadnock hosts welcome these kids into their families for truly rewarding experiences for all. And many businesses share in this hospitality.
I would like to thank local merchants: Toadstool Bookshop, Friendly Farm, Ava Marie Chocolates, Kimball Farm, Mariposa Museum, Rousseau Music Store, Northfield Drive-In, Peterborough Players, The Park Theatre, Peterborough Art Academy, Jaffrey Pizza Barn, Athens Pizza and L&M Create It Crafts. Thank you also to Villi Poni Farm in Jaffrey and the Keene Astronomy Club and Dublin Observatory for providing field trip experiences.
Thank you all so much for making our towns truly Fresh Air โFriendly Towns.โ
