To the editor:
Susan Emerson is not a good Republican – so we have been told. She does not follow leadership on every bill that comes before the House as do “many true Republicans.” A “rubber stamp” she is not.
What she is, is one of the most hard-working legislators I had known in my 12 years in the House. Just one example of many: When the conditions at the County Home came into question, she became a volunteer at Maplewood, traveling back and forth from Rindge, day after day, to get an insider’s view of the conditions of the building and the care of the patients. There have been many votes on Maplewood since then. Susan Emerson’s votes were based on hard-earned knowledge and not on the dictates of leadership.
“Rubber stamps” are a dime a dozen. Susan Emerson deserves your vote.
