The Monadnock Center for History and Culture will host a downtown walking tour on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m.
The walk will begin at the Monadnock Center and explore the buildings, businesses and architecture found along Grove, Main, Depot and School streets. The walk is an informal and interactive conversation with participants encouraged to ask questions and share their own knowledge.
From the days when downtown was a mill village known as โSmithvilleโ to its more recent past, Peterboroughโs center has been shaped by economic opportunities, architectural fashions, and natural disasters.
The tour, which will be held rain or shine, is free and open to the public and will end around 11:30 a.m.
