To the editor:
Sept. 13 will be primary day here in New Hampshire, where each party chooses the best candidates to represent them on the November ballot and in the state for the next two years.
Cheshire County has only two New Hampshire House primary races and the only Republican contested seat is in Rindge and Fitzwilliamโs Cheshire 11, which has three candidates running for two seats. Based on several letters to the editors in recent days, it is clear that long-time Rep. Susan Emerson is on the wrong ballot. In the Aug. 15 edition of the Ledger-Transcript, she wrote that โThe Republican Party of Rindge is not the party of Ronald Reagan; itโs the party of the Koch brothers.โ Ms. Emerson, if you really believe Rindge Republicans are being controlled or funded by the Koch brothers, why are you on the Republican ballot?
Frankly I am not surprised that Pat Martin (Aug. 16 letter to the editor in the Ledger-Transcript) is opposed to Right to Work legislation. As she was the 2014 Democratic candidate for the House seat that Frank Sterling won, we would assumePatwould be opposed to Right to Work. What I am really surprised by, is that Pat Martin is writing a letter in support of Sue Emerson. Has Pat Martin now become a Republican, or vice versa?
Clearly Rindge and Fitzwilliam Republicans should be voting for John OโDay and John Hunt on primary day, Sept. 13. We deserve truthful representation.
