Fred Simmons and Leslie Vogel will open their grounds at the corner of Mountain and Driscoll roads for the 7th annual Folksoul Music Festival on Sunday, Aug. 21.

Seven acoustic bands will be featured, each bringing unique versions of our rich American roots musical heritage. Two bands hail from Vermont — Low Lily with Liz Simmons, Flynn Cohen, Lissa Scheckenberger and Corey DiMario, offering original and traditional songs and tunes; and Bayou X with music from the Cajun and Creole cultures of Louisiana.

Several area bands are returning, including the Tara Greenblatt Band, the Acoustic Bahgoostyx, the Folksoul Ensemble, and the Ensemble for a New Planet. American roots dance band Tattoo will close the show.

Gates will open at 10:30 a.m. and the show will run until dusk.

The festival is family friendly. Bring a chair or blanket, and taste locally-sourced chili and treats.

Please leave dogs at home.

A donation of $10 will go to the musicians. Children under 12 will be admitted for free.

Parking is on one side of Mountain Road.
