Join New England performers Steve Schuch and Pat Spalding for an evening of music and storytelling at the Gallery at Well Sweep on Friday, July 22.

The evening will begin with a wine tasting at 7 p.m. with entertainment following at 7:30 p.m.

Both performers are accomplished musicians and storytellers. Schuchโ€™s honors include a Grammy nomination, PBS soundtracks and five fiddling championships. His musical story โ€œA Symphony of Whalesโ€ received five national book awards and was featured on NPRโ€™s โ€œPerformance Today.โ€

Spalding mines her stories from life experience. A monologist and writer, she is the host of True Tales Radio. Her story โ€œThe Moonโ€™s Invitationโ€ is set on Lake Nubanusit, and โ€œMother of the Bandโ€ features an aging activist majorette.

Admission to this event is $20.

Schuch and Spalding will each hold a workshop on Saturday, July 23.

From 9 a.m. to noon, Schuch will present โ€œStorytelling & the Imagination,โ€ drawing on stories old and new, and using guided imagery, music, and sensory awareness activities to expand storytelling voices.

From 1 to 4 p.m., Spalding will lead โ€œShaping Your Personal Tale.โ€ Using techniques developed by The Moth Storytelling Hour, she will help participants shape a personal tale into a riveting story.

Enrollment for both workshops is $80 and $90 with the evening included.
