A large fire that leveled an unoccupied building at 398 Nutting Road in Jaffrey is under investigation, according to fire officials.

Fire departments from at least a half-dozen towns responded Wednesday to the fire, which was reported around 7:30 p.m., according to reports. Firefighters from Jaffrey, Rindge, Troy, Dublin and Winchendon, Mass., were among those responding to the scene.

The building was located on land owned by Archie Coll, according to the town’s property tax database. It was once used as a chicken coop, according to reports.

The fire was located near the intersection of Nutting Road and Route 202, and police diverted traffic while the blaze was knocked down.
