The state Attorney General’s office is investigating an incident in Milford involving a vehicle that matches the description of one found at the scene of a deadly shooting in Peterborough Tuesday morning.

Eyewitnesses in Milford reported a black sedan sped off from Agway on Elm Street around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, about an hour before Lane Lesko, 19, of Michigan, was reportedly shot by a police officer in Peterborough.

“The car pulled into the parking lot and then spun out into the road heading north shortly thereafter,” said Keith Fogarty, who works across the street at Contemporary Chrysler Dodge Jeep. “A few minutes later police came in here and started asking questions.”

Fogarty said the car in question was a dark colored, late-model BMW. Fogarty said that the man driving the car had dark-colored hair, but he didn’t see much else. Fogarty also believed that the car in question had a dealer license plate, and no plate in front.

Bonnie Coleman, who was working at the Agway that morning, said a woman, clearly in distress, ran into the store. “She had run into the store saying she was threatened with a gun,” said Coleman. “She was really scared and said that he had told her to get out of the car.”

Milford police have declined to comment on the matter, saying that all information released will come out of the Attorney General’s Office, the agency leading the officer-involved shooting case.
