The Mary Varnum Platts-Peterborough Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution planted an oak tree at the Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge. The oak, a symbol of strength, was dedicated to our Revolutionary ancestors and will serve as a reminder of the strength and courage they displayed in their fight for freedom. The D.A.R. members hope the visitors to the Cathedral take a few moments to reflect on the sacrifices all veterans have made. The tree stands next to the Pease Pole and to the far right of the Hill Top House.
The Chapter was established in Peterborough in 1910 and is celebrating 106 years of service to the community.
