Brian Drayton will discuss his new book “A Language for the Inner Landscape: Spiritual Wisdom from the Quaker Movement” at the Toadstool Bookshop on Saturday, June 18, at 2 p.m.

Drayton has compiled and expanded the notes of William Taber who began the project of exploring the vocabulary and key phrases used since the 1600s by the Shaker community that provide important insights into the nature of inward experience over time.

With this enriched vocabulary readers will find help in exploring their own spiritual experiences.  A recorded Quaker minister, Drayton often draws on resources for individual and community life found in early Quaker writings. He is also a plant ecologist working in science education. He often leads retreats and workshops with a particular concern to encourage Friends in Gospel ministry. He and his wife Darcy Drayton live in the area.

This event is free and all are welcome.
