For the past two years, Heidi Schultz has led Avenue A Teen and Community Center with energy, creativity and passion. The Grapevine Family and Community Resource Center, which oversees the teen center, announces that as of May 31, Schultz will step down from her role as Avenue A coordinator.
Under Schultz’s leadership, Avenue A has furthered its outreach and connections within the community – including schools, service organizations and other key partners.
Schultz has represented Avenue A among various committees and task forces addressing the drug and opioid crisis as well as issues of mental and emotional health. She has a wonderful ability to connect with youth and quickly earn their trust and respect.
“We are grateful for her work with us and wish her health and success in the personal and professional opportunities that lie ahead,” said Melissa Gallagher, executive director of the Grapevine, in an announcement of the transition. “Please join me in thanking Heidi for her work and dedication to Avenue A and The Grapevine!”
Gallagher said the organization will search for a new coordinator of Avenue A. The job is a part-time position, approximately 12 to 15 hours per week.
