The fourth annual Tour de Francestown bike race is Saturday, May 28.
Tour de Francestown — three non-competitive bicycle routes (25, 45, and 60 miles) beginning and ending at the Old Meeting House — offers some of the finest riding in the Monadnock region. No wonder these fun rides attract cyclists from all over New England — even the Mid-Atlantic states and Europe.
Pre-registration is only $35/person at www.bikereg.com/tour-de-francestown. That price includes feed stations, plus a $5 coupon off food and drink at the Francestown Village Store (one of the country’s oldest such store). There’s even “rescue” from a support vehicle, plus a map of the well-marked routes, which are carefully updated each year to increase cyclists’ enjoyment.
Registration will also be accepted on site (at $40/person), beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 9:30 am.
All fees help support the “architecturally magnificent” Old Meeting House, an 1801 National Register Landmark that receives no taxpayer dollars for its preservation. For more information, please go to www.francestownmeetinghouse.org/ or call 603-831-5067.
