Poets in the morning and conspiracy theory authors in the afternoon will visit the Toadstool Bookshop on Saturday.
In a continuing celebration of April as National Poetry Month three regional poets will be reading from their works at 11 a.m.
Becky Sakellariou, Betsy Snider and Toni Ortner invite listeners to listen to their poetry at this free event.
Born and raised in New England, Sakellariou has lived most of her adult life in Greece. She has published four books of poetry. Her reading will include some from her latest publication โGathering of the Soft.โ
Snider is a retired attorney who has been published in a variety of journals. She will be reading from her 2015 book โHope Is a Muscle.โ
Ortner is from Vermont and hosts โWrite Action Radio Hourโ on 107.7 FM. She has five books of poetry and a forthcoming one from Mayapple Press.
Judith K. Dial and Thomas A. Easton are the editors of a new fictional anthology called โConspiracy.โ They will be joined by several of the contributors at 2 p.m. to discuss and sign the book.
โConspiracyโ includes stories by Allen Steele, Sarah Smith, Shariann Lewitt, Cat Rambo and Mike Resnick The conspiracy theories are all fiction โ at least, thatโs what the editors want you to think.
The result includesย the Masons and dragons,ย the Bavarian Illuminati,ย cell phones and weather control,ย ancient immortals who guide our breeding, Santa Claus, and squirrels, to mention a few.
