The ConVal Soccer Club’s U11 boys’ team, coached by Bill McClusky of Peterborough opened the spring season in New Hampshire Soccer League play with a dominating win over Hampshire FC of Amherst on Sunday afternoon. The game was played at CVSC’s home field at Moose Brook Park in Hancock.

The 10-0 rout highlighted the team’s balanced offense with five players scoring. The match was 2-0 at the half with goals from Garret Rousseau of Dublin and Aiden McClusky of Peterborough.

Then, ConVal went on a roll in the second half, with four goals by Connor Marshall of Hancock, Ben Sawyer of Jaffrey scoring twice, another goal from Rousseau and Alec Nieuwenhuizen of Sharon capping off the action with one goal. Kermit Pope of Peterborough held Hampshire scoreless with a strong performance at goalkeeper with help from Kaiden Bateman of Francestown and Nate Pimental of Peterborough on defense.

The team goes on the road to play Rindge Chaos FC this Sunday.

Rounding out the U11 boys’ roster is Jack Goen of Greenfield, Otto McLaughlin of Peterborough, Ted McLaughlin of Peterborough, Oliver Rippett Swales of Peterborough, and Hayden Weeks of Greenfield.

CVSC’s U12 girls team came out of the weekend with a solid performance, winning their season-opener on the road against Fishersfield FC of Newbury with a score of 6-0. The team is coached by Eric Larson of Peterborough.

CVSC’s other four teams open their seasons this coming weekend. The CVSC U10 girls team, coached by Scott Daniels of Hancock, begins play at home on Saturday against Fishersfield FC. The club’s other U11 boys team, coached by Eric Burbank of Peterborough, kicks off at home on Saturday against Exeter.

The CVSC U13 boys team, coached by James Howarth of Peterborough and Glenn Peck of Peterborough, starts the season off with an away game on Sunday against the Red Devils SC in Keene. Opening on the road against Merrimack SC on Sunday is the U14 boys team, coached by Hagen Wegmueller and James Ward.

The U14 boys team will be looking to defend their state title as they won the 2015 New Hampshire Soccer League U13 championship last spring.
