Mascenic’s runs came early and often in Monday’s season opener against WLC, and though the Warriors climbed back in the game once the Vikings took their foot off the gas pedal, Mascenic still came away with a 18-8 victory.
Mascenic then faced Monadnock in a pitching rematch of their semifinal loss from last season, Scott Humphrey versus River Fish.
Humphrey pitched a gem, allowing only one run, but Fish shut out the Vikings, 1-0.
Mascenic (1-1) plays at Stevens (0-0) on Friday at 4 p.m.
WLC (0-1) was set to host Sunapee (0-0) on Wednesday; the Warriors will host Portsmouth Christian (1-0) on Friday at 4 p.m.
