The Franklin Pierce University men’s lacrosse team took an 8-0 first-half lead over the Assumption College Greyhounds on Wednesday afternoon. Then, over the second half, the Greyhounds were able to score nine goals, but the Ravens’ first-half advantage was enough to lead them to a Northeast-10 Conference win at Sodexo Field, 11-9.

Sophomore goalie Connor Wacksman took the win, as he faced 16 shots on goal and made eight saves.

Leading the Ravens were Sean Delea and Jack Carney with their respective hat tricks, while Delea also earned three assists on the day. Ben Lassow and Jake Castorf had two goals apiece to round out the Ravens win. As a team, the Ravens took a total of 38 shots and collected 27 ground balls, including a team-high four for Wacksman.

On Saturday, the Ravens fell behind as the No. 7 nationally ranked Adelphi Panthers poured in nine goals in the third quarter on Saturday afternoon. Later, the Ravens fourth-quarter comeback attempt failed, as the Ravens fell on the road, 19-11 in a Northeast-10 matchup at Motamed Field.

With the loss, the Ravens record falls to 4-5 overall and 3-4 in conference, while Adelphi advances to 9-2 overall and 7-1 in the Northeast-10.

Wacksman faced 28 shots on goal and made 11 saves on the day, but his record fell to 4-4. Panthers senior keeper John McGrath (9-2) took the win by making four saves on 10 shots over the first three quarters.

Leading the Ravens on Saturday was Casey Burnett with four goals, while sophomore Louis Palumbo , and sophomore defender John Massaro both collected five ground balls. Franklin Pierce totaled 36 shot attempts and collected 32 ground balls.
