Q. Why did you start your business in the Monadnock region?
A. My business started in the 1880s and came down through three generations to me. I will be the last in my family, with no regrets.
Q. What is your experience of doing business in the area?
A. Our business evolved through the years from being a full service men’s and boys clothing store to a family clothing store to almost a general store offering a variety of services. We have milked the business model for about all it can give in today’s retail environment where most shopping is done online.
Q. What improvements to the business environment would you recommend, to help businesses in the region succeed?
A: Our hope for the future of Main Street is for it to adapt to today’s environment and complement the online experience with destination venues that will feed, entertain and form community bonds that enhance our country living experience.
