Freshman Lilian Baah and senior Monique Loney each put together a pair of topfive finishes on Saturday to lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University women’s track & field team to open the outdoor season at the Wesleyan Spring Classic.
Loney collected a pair of secondplace finishes on the track in sprint events on Saturday. She ran a time of 13.06 seconds to place second in the 100meter dash and added a mark of 26.58 seconds to finish second in the 200meter dash.
Loney was joined in the top 10 of the 100meter dash by junior Breigh Souliere , who finished ninth with a mark of 13.41 seconds.
Meanwhile, Baah had her topfive finishes come in field events. She finished fourth in the triple jump with a hop, skip and jump of 10.65 meters. Baah was also fifth in the long jump, with a leap of 4.86 meters.
Along the way, Franklin Pierce also picked up a top10 finish in the shot put from freshman Kendra Covington , who placed eighth with a heave of 10.23 meters.
The Ravens return to the track on Saturday when they travel to the CCSU Invite in New Britain, Connecticut.
