The Peterborough Select Board received an update from Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Seth MacLean Tuesday night on the status of the ongoing renovation to the fire station.

MacLean said the building committee for the project had been shown early conceptual designs on Aug. 24. The committee has been meeting regularly since being appointed earlier this summer and had its first meeting Aug. 3.

A direct mailer was also sent to all mailboxes and post office boxes within Peterborough Tuesday urging citizens to attend one of two sessions on Sept. 14 in the library – one at 3 p.m. and another at 6 p.m. – which will be the first public outreach event in relation to the fire station project. A follow-up session will be held on Oct. 26 in response to  public feedback given at the September meetings.

MacLean also emphasized that a new Zencity website is being used for the project. According to MacLean, the new “project-centered hub” allows for a more streamlined experience for both administrators and citizens.

“It makes it a little easier for us to reach people and to get information out,” said MacLean.
