Second place, under 12:
It was dark in my town, almost pitch black, but the houses had lights. They were orange, green, purple, white, and red. There were carved pumpkins, and candy on the ground. With dark, creepy woods no one would dare go into. It was Halloween night, and everyone was trick-or-treating, knocking on houses.
Me and my friends Ariana, Jocelyn, Felicity, and my twin sister Zoey were trick-or-treating. We went up to this house with vines covering the walls, and cracks on the ceilings and windows. The house was all grey, but the door was bright yellow. We walked to the house, knocked on the door three times and said, “Trick or Treat.”
When, all of a sudden, the door cracked open and then everything went black! When I woke up, my friends and I were in separate rooms. Mine had a skull on the door (a fake one, of course), and it had cracks on all the walls and there was a bed in the middle of the room. It was quiet, so I thought I was the first to wake up. I started to walk out the door. It was a two-story building.
The hallway had vines on it and the floor had cracked wood and the walls were also grey, with black metal railings going down the stairs. There were four more rooms. So, I started to walk down the hallway to the next room. The next room had a cat on the door and the door was blue. I walked in, the inside of the room was also blue but with flowers on the walls and broken windows. It was pretty empty except for this one chair. Then, I saw Felicity on the chair. She looked scared, then she said, “Mia, is that you?”
“Yes,” I said. Then she started to tell me about this guy who was the one who took us in and trapped us in the house!
She said he was tall with glowing eyes and had a big smile. I was a little scared but we had to find Zoey and Ariana. So, me and Felicity went to the next room. The room was pitch black, you couldn’t see anything! Just then, we heard a crrrrraaaaack! Standing before us were Zoey and Ariana! We made sure they were ok, then we saw the creepy figure. He approached us slowly and everything went BLACK. again.
